Today signified the final day for this experiment, and these poor jars of rice. It is conclusive, we have altered the physical properties of cooked white rice with our tones and words.
The beginning of the third week, and there are noticeable changes between each jar! I accidentally deleted the second week, but will put comparative pictures up of all jars at the end.
Today, we placed a 1/2 cup of cooked white rice in five matching glass jars. They were labelled with different sentiments which all Philosophy students and I will greet at the beginning of each class.
I will post photographs of each jar every Tuesday, and we will compare the physical features after each time lapse. Despite starting this on April Fools Day, this will be a serious experiment. Our Philosophy 12 aims to discern if the words and tones we use can noticeably alter physical properties. This experiment is inspired by Dr. Emoto's water molecule experiment, wherein he found that expressing different sentiments to water molecules altered their structure.
Our experiment has been done before with varying results, and the instructions that we are using can be found here:An interesting study that refers to What the Bleep do we Know? http://www.csicop.org/specialarticles/show/a_grain_of_truth_recreating_dr._emotos_rice_experiment Here are some skeptics: http://sciencefocus.com/forum/masaru-emoto-experiments-t1646.html Here is an very detailed success story: http://organicuprising.com/the-rice-experiment/ Photos will be updated every Friday until the end of April. |
